DHONDGE, SHRI KESHAV SHANKAR, B.A., U.A (Maharashtra—Nanded—1977):  s. of Shri Shankar Rao Dhondge; b. at Gaul, Nanded District, 1927; ed. at Government High School, Ambajogai and Nanded, Government College, Aurangabad and Shivaji College, Amaravati; studied Law; m. Smt. Prabhavati Bai Dhondge, August 15, 1963; 1 s. and 4 d.; Agriculturist and Social Worker; previously associated with Arya Samaj and Hyderabad State Congress; detained under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act from August 1975 to May, 1976; Founder and Director, Shri Shivaji Education Society, Kandhar; Member, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, 1957—77; was Member of several Committees of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

Social activities:  Worked in educational and social fields; participated in several Satyagrahas concerning Bombay City, United Maharashtra and Maharashtra border; Resented injustice through Satyagrahas like “Baitha Satyagrah”, “Hagumuthu Satyagrah”, “Damkonda Satyagrah” etc.

Favourite pastime and recreation:  Music, Literature, Debate, Divine knowledge and social service.

Special interests:  Continuous thinking for social revolution, active movement and revolutionary writings.
