Parvathamma, June 2, 1921; Coffee Planter and Land-lord; associated with the Congress, 1927—66;. participated in the freedom movement and courted imprisonment; Bench Magistrate, 1924—28; was Member, (1) District Board, Chikmagalur District, 1927—30 and 1944—54; (2) Representative Assembly, Mysore State, 1931—37; (3) Constituent Assembly of Mysore; (4) Mysore Legislative Council; (5) Mysore Legislative Assembly; President, District Congress Committee for several years: Member, Working Committee, Mysore Congress, 1940—51 and Mysore Pradesh Congress Committee, 1952—60 and 1962-63.

Social activities: Interested in Harijan Movement and Khadi.

Hobbies: Spinning and village uplift.
