(adopted), 1 d.; Agriculturist; took active part in freedom movement of former French Territories in India (Pondicherry State) during 1953 and 1954; jailed during agriculturists’ agitation in Tamil Nadu in 1972; Member, (i) All India Farmers’ Council (Farmers’ Forum), (ii) Executive Committee, Tamil Nadu Farmers’ Forum; Ex-Treasurer, South Arcot Land-Owners’ Association, Cuddalore; Vice-President, South India Steel and Sugar Mill Area Sugarcane Growers’ Association, Mundiyampakkam; Ex-Director, (i) South Arcot Co-operative Central Bank, Cuddalore, (ii) South Arcot Co-operative Spinning Mills, Saram Tindivanam; Ex-Chairman, Vikravandi Panchayat Union, Vikravandi; Member, Fifth Lok Sabha, 1971—77; presently Member, Committee on the Absence of Members.
