Social activities: Working for upliftment of backward people; providing medical aid through eye camps; building hospitals, wards, dispensaries, providing X-Ray plant, coolers, electricity etc. in hospitals, grant of scholarships to poor and deserving students and financial help to helpless widows, poor and sick for treatment and medicines; donated his Palace at Satna and other buildings for the establishment of a college; gifted two palatial buildings to Banaras Hindu University for educational purposes; Made special efforts for irrigation, industries, transport, electrification, educational institutions, medical services, Satna-Rewa rail services; also made special efforts for the establishment of Tele-links (Joint Sector Industry) in Rewa City during 1983-84; took keen interest in the opening of a cement plant with an installed production capacity of 10 lakh tons per annum and getting sanction of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital with 800 beds in Rewa City; took special efforts for the implementation of Bunsagar Scheme and completion of Bargi Irrigation Scheme (Right side coastal canal); Social Service.
Favourite pastime and recreation: Hunting (Shikar); photography, reading, collection of archaeological and historical pieces and wild life preservation; Yogic Pranayams and Asanas.
Special interests: Introduction and improvement of the species of white tiger; establishment and development of National Park at Bandhogarh.
