Shrimati Sarojni, February, 1939; 2 s.; Social Worker, joined army in 1932 and retired as a Junior Commissioned Officer in 1950; awarded five Medals, 1939-46; President, Koli Mahasabha, 1932-52; Secretary, Ex-Soldiers Association, District Sirmur, 1950; President, Paonta Labour Union, District Sirmur, 1964; Secretary, Ajeet Cooperative M.P. Society Ltd.; 1952-62; Member, Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, 1952-56 and Whip of the Congress Party in the Assembly; Member, Territorial Council, Himachal Pradesh 1957-62, and Chief Whip in the Territorial Council, Himachal Pradesh; Member, Third Lok Sabha, 1962-67 and Fourth Lok Sabha, 1967-70.

Social activities: Looking after the welfare of the Scheduled Castes and Ex-soldiers’ families was instrumental in the formation of Scheduled Caste Panchayats in Sirmur District.
