Lokmudi Sinha, April 15, 1949; Advocate; Associated with Socialist Party and the Congress Socialist Party till 1951; Secretary, Congress Party in Parliament May, 1970; Chairman, Faizabad Divisional Development Committee, April 1970; President, Faizabad Students Federation and Lucknow Students Federation (Nationalist), and Prime Minister, College Parliament, Faizabad, 1938—42; Imprisoned twice in the Quit-India Mevement and detained in Faizabad and Luckrrow Jail, 1942—44; remained underground, 1944-45; President, (i) U.P. Students Congress, 1945-46 and (ii) National Conference (N.U.S.) 1951; General Secretary, All India Ctudents Congress, 1946—48; and Founder-Convener, Samajwadi Yuvak Sabha, 1948—50; participated in International Youth Conferences in Europe, 1953—57; started the “Contemporary” Monthly in 1957 and the Hindi Times, a Hindi newsweekly in 1959 and functioned as printer, publisher and managing director of both the journals till March 1, 1967; convened the National Seminar on Non-alignment (1963), the National Conference on Kashmir (1964), the Northern India Freedom Fighters Conference, the National Conference on Freedom Fighters, on Socialism, Democracy, Non-alignment and National Integration on various occasions during 1965-1966; invited in 1963 as a Journalist to Iraq and in 1965 to U.A.R., G.D.R. and Poland; attended the Afro-Asian Journalists Conference in Jakarta, 1964; Member, (i) Executive Committee District Congress Committee, Faizabad, (ii) A.I.C.C. since 1968, (iii) Steering Committee Congress Forum for Socialist Action 1967-68 and 1968-69; President, (i) National Conference of the Congress Forum for Socialist Action, December, 1969 and (ii) M.M.T.C. Officers’ Union, since 1970; Chairman, Youth and Student Panel of the Indian National Congress, 1969, elected Convener, Congress Forum for Socialist Action in the National Conference at Bombay, 1969 and re-elected at Madras in 1970; Represented India in the U.N.O. in 1969; Member, Fourth Lok Sabha, 1967—70; led a Parliamentary Group to G.D.R. and Yugoslavia, June, 1970.
