PANDEY, SHRI RAMSAHAI, Sahityalankar, (Cong.), Madhya Pradesh-Rajnandgaon—1971, Son of Shri Shioprasad Pandey; b. on September 14, 1920; ed. at Rashtriya Vidyalaya, Kanpur; Married, June, 1943; 2 s. and 2 d.; Business; entered into Politics in student life; actively participated in the Freedom struggle and the Civil Disobedience Movement in 1942; was imprisoned twice in 1940 and 1942 at Kanpur; Member, (i) Bombay Municipal Corporation for 10 years, (ii) Bombay Pradesh Congress Committee since 1952, (iii) A.I.C.C. for 15 years and (iv) Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee for 4 years; Justice of Peace, Government of Maharashtra; General Secretary, B.P.C.C. for 10 years; Vice President, B.P.C.C. for 8 years; Trustee, Bombay Port Trust for 4 years; General Secretary, Bombay Pradesh Hindi Sahitaya Sammelan; Vice President, Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti, Bombay (Wardha); Member, Third Lok Sabha, 1962-67; Member, Executive Committee of Congress Parliamentary Party for consecutive three terms during Third Lok Sabha; Indian delegate; World Assembly of Youth in Berlin in 1956; was invited by the Government of United States of America and U.K. in 1964 to study electioneering and genreal economy; Member of Parliamentary Delegation to South East Asian Countries, in 1965.
