Shrimati Sushila Devi; 2. S. and 1 D.; Businessman; Took part in Civil disobedience Movement in 1930 and 1932 and suffered imprisonment for 6 months on each occasion; Was Chairman Irwin Hospital Advisory Committee for several years; Was member Executive Committee of the D.C.C. for several years; Was trustee, Delhi Improvement Trust, Delhi Cloth Mills Charity Trust and one of the Secretaries of Kasturba Gandhi Memorial Fund, Delhi and a Member of the Court of University of Delhi; Junior Vice-President, Delhi Municipal Committee, 1948, its Senior Vice President in 1950-51 and its President in 1951-54; Mayor, Delhi Municipal Corporation, 1960-61 and 1961-62; Member, Governing Bodies of Hindu College and the Indraprestha Girls College, Delhi; Deputy Minister for Information and Broadcasting since 1962.

Social activities:  Took part in the popularisation of Khadi, removal of untouchability and promotion of Communal harmony.

Hobby:  Foreign travelling.

Club:  Roshanara Club, Delhi.

Travels abroad:  U.S.S.R., Czechoslovakia, East Germany, U.K., France, Switzerland, U.S.A., Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Holland, Greece, Egypt, Belgium and Yugoslavia.
