Conference in Geneva in 1927; Labour representative to the Indian Round Table Conference in London in 1931; Convener, National Planning Committee set up by the Congress, 1937; Minister for Labour, Government of Madras, 1937—39 and 1946-47; High Commissioner for India in Ceylon, 1947—51; From 13th May, 1952, Minister of Labour Government of India.
