Actively associated with various constructive activities; achievements include: Plantation; constructed 56 village ponds; built 710 Public wells for peoples to overcome shortage of water; carried out repairs and maintenance of old wells, wisely managed the distribution of water for agriculture through canal under which 30,000 hectares land came under the irrigation, ultimately production of grains increased; In 1972, during the drought situation in the Solapur district, supplied free water tanker to peoples of 11 Talukas in Solapur district and Indapur Taluka of Pune District; also provided fodder for cattle free of cost; Cattle sheds were also opened for cattle; Implemented One Village – One water tank; additional Lands were distributed among the Backward Class and landless people; founded institute which helped the farmers to undertake Milk business as an additional source of income; More than 90% of Electrification work has been done in Malshiras Taluka
Achievements in the Education field: Executive Committee Member, Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Akluj, 1966 to 1992. Chairman, Shikshan Prasarak Mandal February, 1979 to March, 1992, during this 13 years tenure undertook various activities: founded a Balvikas Bhavan Centre
Built Pre-Primary and primary Schools; 18 Secondary Colleges; 6 higher secondary Colleges; 3 Technical Colleges; 2 Secondary Agricultural Colleges; one each Night College; Secondary English Medium School; Girls Secondary High School; 14 Vocational Institutes which impart Vocational training for employment; opened 3 Junior Colleges for Arts, Commerce and Science; one each Degree College; B. Ed. College; D. Ed. College; B. P. Ed. College; D. Pharmacy College; Information Technology College; Ashram School for Adivasis; built 4 hostels for boys and 2 for girls, during the period 2003-2004; 25,676 students are imparted training/education and are managed by 1250 teaching and non-teaching staff in the aforesaid institutes which are run under his Chairmanship
Other Achievements :
Executive Trustee of Shiv Parvati Development Trust Board, Akluj; founded Green Fingers English Medium School under the aegis of Shiv Parvati Development Trust Board; built new Shiv Parvati temple at Akluj, and Shivaji Mahararaj’s Equestrian Statue; organising annual Agriculture-Industrial exhibitions and wrestling competitions in the Fair on auspicious occasions of Mahashiv Ratra at Akluj; State level / national sports events at Akluj; dug numerous wells and also many Bore wells in the Taluka; rendered financial assistance to various economically backward class sections under Rural Development Programme; successfully completed 100% Electrification of Malshiras Taluka; installed 9 Electric Sub-Stations 33/11 K. V.; constructed Modern Shopping Centres in Akluj; first Television Telecast Centre established in the rural Akluj Village; being conscious about social responsibility, extended help to the people of Latur – Usmanabad at the time of devastating earthquake in the year 1993, by sending 10,000 litres of Milk, 100 bags of Sugar, 63,000 eggs and Rupees 51 Lakh to the affected peoples. Also sent 1000 volunteers from Akluj for rehabilitation of people
For Labour:
Established Credit Society in the year 1964 for the benefit of farmers, employees and labourers who work for Sugar Factories; founded Jawahar Cooperative Engineering and Mechanical Institute for the technical labourers in the year 1969; distributed hybrid cows to the employees of Girija Kamgar Milk Production Society in 1973 to supplement their income; established Vijay Ganeshotsav Mandal in the year 1969 for employees, and allotted land to the said Vijay Ganeshotsav Mandal
There have been no incidents of strike, lockout, Morcha, gherao or any kind of workers agitations in the Cooperative Institutions situated at Akluj; founded Labour Welfare Fund Trust for labour; Introduced Accidental Policy for employees to the tune of Rs. 1,00,000/-; Sumitra Credit Society insured a sum of Rs. 50,000/- for each employee with a paltry sum of Rs. 500/-
