Shrimati Shanta Kumari Kushwah, March 10, 1952; 3 S.; Agriculturist and Journalist; assocaiated with the Indian National Congress from 1936 to 1966 ; suffered imprisonment on various occasions due to political activities: General Secretary of the State Congress, 1941—48; ex-Member, P.C.C. and A.I.C.C.; Founder, Madhya Bharat State Socialist Party; ex-Editor, “Nav Prabhat” (Daily) and Editor, “Panchmat” (Weekly), Gwalior; Minister of Gwalior State and later in the Madhya Bharat Government; Member, Madhya Bharat Legislative Assembly 1948—52 and Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, 1957—62. Social activities: Associated with the Harijan Sewak Sangh; working for development of Khadi ; President of Birkhadi Degree Collage and Higher Secondary Schools at Birkhadi Mahua, Jaganpura, Ashokgram, Gori, Sundarpura, Khadiyahar, Datahara, Munravja, Puri, Jasavli, etc.; Vice-President, Maharaja Man Singh Degree Collage, Gwalior.
