Raiji, 1918: 2 S. and 2 D.; Social Worker; Chairman, Bombay Presidency Women’s Council, 1919, and served on the Rescue Home Committee; One of the Secretaries, Rashtriya Stree Sabha, 1920; Participated in picketing movement by Desh Sevika Sangh of foreign cloth and liquor shops, 1930; Ex-Member, Vanila Vishram Management Committee (Widows’ Home), Bombay; Ex-Fellow, Senate of the Bombay University and represented the university on the Bombay Municipal Corporation, 1939—43; Suffered imprisonment in ‘Quit India’ movement, 1942, for six months; Organized Swadeshi Exhibition to help swadeshi movement and Women’s Co-operative Stores, Bombay; Ex-Member, Syndicate of the Shrimati Nathibai-D-Thackersey University for Women, Bombay; Appointed on the Children’s Aid Society by the Government; Was made Honorary Magistrate and Justice of Peace in 1949; Was one of the Secretaries, Kasturba Gandhi Fund and one of the Vice-Presidents of the Distress Relief Fund Committee for relief to riot sufferers and displaced persons after the Partition; Member, Women’s Section of the Directorate of Relief and Rehabilitation, Government of Bombay; Member, Lady Irwin College Committee, Delhi; Chairman, Anti-T.B.
