GIRIJA NANDAN SINGH, THAKUR, M.A., Janata, (Bihar—Sheohar—1977):  s. of Thakur Ram Nandan Singh; b. on December 31, 1913;  ed. at Banaras Hindu University; m. Smt. Sushila Devi; 2 s. and 3d.; Agriculturist; was in, Government service as a Gazetted Officer, but was discharged in 1943 for taking part in the non-cooperation movement in 1942; associated with the Congress till 1957 and later with Bhartiya Kranti Dal; Member, Bihar Legislative Assembly, 1947—62 and 1967—72; Has Cabinet Minister, State of Bihar, 1971.
