TRIPURA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

          The Tripura attained its statehood n the year 21st January 1972.The Tripura Public service Commission was established in the year 30th October 1972.The present location of the Tripura Public Service Commission is the old Assembly house of Tripura. The Commission consists of one chairman and two members. The various service examinations conducted by the commission are;Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC)

  • Civil Service and Police Service Examination
  • Forest Service Examination
  • Engineering Service Examination
  • Judicial Service Examination

Civil Service and Police Service Examination

         The Examination is conducted for the posts of Administrative officers, Police officers in different post.

Eligibility Criteria:

         The Applicant must be the citizen of India. The age limit of the aspirant must be between 21 to 30 years. The Aspirant must hold a degree from a Recognized University/Institution

Selection Procedure:

         The main stages for the selection procedure are

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Written Examination
  • Personality Test

Exam Pattern:

         The Preliminary Exam consists of objective type questions with 200 marks. The main examination is a conventional Written Examination with 800 marks. The main exam consists of five compulsory papers with 100 marks each with three hours time duration. The other three optional papers consist of 100 marks each with three hours time duration. The personality test consists of 100 marks. The merit based candidates are chosen for the interview process. The interview process is conducted to know the personal skills of the candidate

Forest Service Examination

          The examination is conducted for the posts of forest officers, Forest guards, Assistant Forest Guards,

Eligibility Criteria:

       The Candidate must be a citizen of India. The age limit of the candidate must be between 21 to 33 years. The candidate must possess a degree from a Recognized University/Institution

Selection Procedure:

       The levels of Selection are

  • Written Examination
  • Personal Interview

Exam Pattern:

        The Written Examination consists of three papers which are compulsory with two optional papers carrying 100 marks for each paper. The time duration for each paper is three hours. The personality test consists of 100 marks

Judicial Service Examination

     The examination is mainly conducted for the posts of civil Judges

Eligibility Criteria:

       The Applicant must be the citizen of India. The age limit must be between 21 to 30 years. The candidate must have a degree in law from a recognized University/Institution.

Selection Procedure:

       The levels of elections are

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Main Examination
  • Viva Voce

Exam pattern:

      The Preliminary exam consists of one paper with multiple choice questions with time duration of two hours each. The Main Examination consists of four papers of conventional type .The two law papers are compulsory papers. The each paper consists of 100 marks. The time duration for each paper is three hours. The written examination should be in English only. The viva voce is conducted for the candidates selected in the written examination. The marks scored for the exam are 100.

Engineering Service Examination

          The examination is conducted for the Assistant Engineers in various departments

Eligibility Criteria:

         The candidate must be the citizen of India. The candidate must have a graduation in Engineering

Selection Procedure:

      The selection Procedure consists of two stages

  • Written Examination
  • Viva Voce

Exam Pattern:

      The written Examination consists of 500 marks, the two papers consists of General English with 100 marks and one hour time duration. The optional subject consists of two papers with 200 marks each. The subject is related to Engineering branch. The time duration is 3 ours for each paper. The interview process is based on shortlisted candidates from the written Examination.
