Social And Cultural Activities Took keen interest in social activities and had the opportunity to preside over many of them in Barmer, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur; taken keen interest in the social activities of various voluntary organizations working for the children, handicapped and the aged; taken keen interest in the agriculture development and upliftment of the farmers. Special Interests (i) Keen agriculturist who takes interest in promoting better farming practices, micro finance/skill development projects for farmers & craftsmen, health insurance for rural poor in Western Rajasthan, especially in Distts. Barmer & Jaisalmer (ii) Avid Golfer, Swimmer and Traveller. Photography and travelling; traversed the whole length and breadth of the country as Army Officer, Member of Parliament and Member of Legislative Assembly (Baytu Assembly Constituency in Barmer District) Favourite Pastime and Recreation Playing Golf, Swimming, Photography, Sports and Clubs Declared the best Sportsman in school days 1960-61 and 1961-62, Best Athlete 1964 & 1965-1966. Took premature retirement during 1994 to launch in politics to serve poor and downtrodden people of India. Had outstanding Career in education and sports during schooling and graduation in engineering spanning over 20 years. Thereafter, served for 25 years in Armed Forces with distinction for cause of National security and integration. After voluntary retirement from Armed Forces in 1994, serving nation with dedication for 25 years as MP Lok Sabha (4 Times) and MLA (1 Time) from Western Distt. Of Rajasthan.
