KARNATAKA SAMSKRIT UNIVERSITY
Karnataka Samskrit University is located at Bangalore. It is mainly for the development and research in Sanskrit language. The Sanskrit language is one of the ancient languages which teaches heritage, culture, literacy. The University was founded in the year 2010 by the Karnataka Government. The main mission is to develop and make researches in Sanskrit language in both National and International levels. There are four wings in the University. They are;
- Teaching Wing
- Research Wing
- Publication Wing
- Administration Wing
The university has 10 affiliated institutions under it and nine unaided affiliated institution The Vice chancellor of the University is Professor Padma Sekar. The chancellor of the University is Shri Vajubhai Rudabhai vala, Governor of Karnataka. The Mysore campus of University is located at New Sayyajirao Road and it has its own hostels, library, auditorium ,teaching and administration blocks. University consists of 243 aided veda and Samskrit pathshala across the State.The campus for the University with 100 acres of land in Ramnagar district is under construction.The current campus consists of all amenties for the students.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
M Phil (Vishishtacharya)
The entrance examination is conducted for M.Phil candidates. The examination will be written test, the question paper will be in Sanskrit language and the centre of the examination will be Bangalore. Applicants must have Bachelor’s degree in Sanskrit/Shasthra with a aggregate of 55% marks from a recognized University/Institution .The marks provided for the paper is 100.The exam paper consists of two parts. The part I consist of questions on,
- Command over language
- General knowledge regarding Darshanas, Shastras, Vedas
- The marks are 20 and 30 respectively
- The part II questions are based on
- Notes/Essay on a general topic
- Essay on a topic in the field of study
- The marks allotted are 20 and 30 respectively
PhD (Vidyavaridhi)
The entrance exam consists of written examination and interview. The question paper will be set in Sanskrit language and the center for the examination is Bangalore. The applicants must have a Master’s degree in Sanskrit/Shathra with an aggregate of 55% from a recognized University/Institution. The marks allotted for the paper is 100.The exam paper consists of two sections. The part I is descriptive type and part II is objective type. The questions will be based on,
- Research Methodology
- History of Sanskrit Literature
- Sanskrit Grammar/ Language
- Manuscriptlogy / Linguistic
- Vedant (Basic)
- Nyaya (Basic)
