BIHAR PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION
The Bihar Public Service Commission was setup in the year 1st April 1949 after its separation from the states of Orissa and Madhya Pradesh. The Headquarters of the commission was initially in Ranchi and later on it was moved to Patna in the year1st March 1951.The Commission consists of one chairman and four members. The exams conducted by the commission are,
- Combined Competitive Examination
- Departmental Examination
Combined Competitive Examination
The examination is conducted for the posts of Police Officers, Sub Collectors, Tehilsdars, Administrative Officers and Block Development Officers.
Eligibility Criteria:
The Aspirant must be the citizen of India. He/she must have a degree from a recognized University/Institution. The age limit of the candidate is between 21 to 30 years. In case SC/ST candidate, the upper age limit for the candidate is 32 years. Physically challenged Candidates, The upper age limit is 33 years. The candidate must have passed Hindi in his/her Middle School level.

Exam Pattern:
The Preliminary exam consists of objective type questions. The 150 objective type questions with two hours time duration. The Main examination consists of four papers .The first paper is for Hindi language. The other papers are General Studies paper with 200 marks each with three hours time duration. The Interview process consists of 150 marks .The shortlisted candidates are selected from the examinations.
Departmental Examination
Eligibility Criteria:
The Aspirant must be the citizen of India. He/she must have a degree from a recognized University/Institution. The age limit of the candidate is between 21 to 30 years. The experienced candidates can have an age limit up to 40 years. SC/ST candidate, the upper age limit for the candidate is 32 years. The Physically challenged Candidates, The upper age limit is 33 years. The candidate must have passed Hindi in his/her Middle School level.

Exam Pattern:
The Preliminary exam consists of objective type questions. The exam consists of 100 questions of aptitude test with 2 hours time duration. The Main examination consists of four compulsory papers with two papers of conventional written type and other two technical papers with three hours time duration for each paper. The eligible candidate for the paper is selected for the Interview process. The interview process is used to know the physical skills, the ability of the candidate to solve the problems of the candidate.

- The candidate must log onto the official website of Bihar Public Service commission to apply to various posts
- If the candidate is a new user, he/she must have to register in the new user account details
- Fill all the mandatory details
- A system generated Username and Password will be used
- Login as an existing user
- Apply to various posts in the government Sector
- Using bank challan, fill all the details
- Pay the amount in nearby SBI Bank
- Fill the necessary details of the branch code, Journal code
- The application shall be completed
