Gujarat, Maharashtra and Odisha have joined the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2014 replacing their own regional examination system for admission into engineering colleges in respective states. Gujarat, Odisha and Maharashtra have 163, 190 and 679 engineering colleges respectively which will come under JEE Main from 2014.
JEE Apex Board notified that candidates seeking admission to institutes in these states, which previously carried out admissions through their own state-level exams, have been asked to fill in the JEE Main 2014 application form online.
The detailed information bulletin containing details of examination pattern, syllabus, eligibility, important dates, etc. along with the process of normalization of marks will be available on the JEE Main website (www.jeemain.nic.in) by second week of November, 2014.
The JEE Main exam is conducted by the JEE apex board for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutes and is also known as the qualifying examination for entry into IITs by screening top 1.5 lakh students who are eligible to appear JEE (Advanced) Exam.
