Hon’ble Thiru. Justice P. Kalaiyarasan
Shri P. Kalaiyarasan, born on 01.05.1956, to Shri. K.S. Ponnusamy and Late Smt. Rathinammal, in Kullamudaiyanur, Mettur Taluk, Salem District. Hails from agricultural family. Graduated B.Sc., (Chemistry) in Government Arts College, Salem. Did Law Degree from V.R. Law College, Nellore and M.L. (Criminology) in Madras Law College. Enrolled as an advocate and commenced practise from 1980 in Madras High Court under Mr. G.M. Nathan and Mr. I. Mehboob Sheriff. Selected and appointed as Judicial Second Class Magistrate on 03.01.1983 and thereafter selected and appointed as District Munsif / Judicial Magistrate in 1988. Promoted as Sub Judge on 28.11.1995. Then promoted as District Judge on 06.12.1999. He was awarded District Judge (Super-time Scale) with effect from 01.11.2010. Functioned as,

Principal District & Sessions Judge, Dindigul;
Principal District & Sessions Judge, Vellore;
Presiding Officer, Principal Labour Court, Chennai;
Principal Family Court Judge, Chennai;

He was appointed as a Permanent Judge of the High Court of Madras on 7th April 2016
