Hon’ble Tmt. Justice J. Nisha Banu
Her Lordship The Hon’ble Mrs.Justice.J.Nisha Banu was born to Mr.M.Jeniston Devi Raj and Ms. J. Jeevarthinam at Nagercoil on 18.09.1966. Her Lordship did her schooling in St.Joseph Convent Higher Secondary School and did law at Madurai Law College and enrolled herself as an Advocate on 28.11.1990. Her Lordship started her practise in the Madras High Court and practised in the field of Writ, Civil, Criminal, Debts Recovery Tribunal Cases and Rent Control cases and specialised herself in the Service Law and shifted her practise to the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, after the constitution of Madurai Bench of Madras High Court in the year 2004. Her Lordship was the President of the Women Advocates Association of the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, till her elevation; Secretary of the Tamil nadu Federation for Women Lawyers and also held the post of Joint Secretary in All India Federation for Women Lawyers; She was the Counsel for the Director of Revenue Intelligence; Bar Counsel of India; Annamalai University; She was an accredited Mediator and mediated several cases; Served as a Member of the Sensitisation Committee; Advocate for the Legal Service Authority of India and sat as a Member of the Lok Adalat and dealt with a number of cases; She got elevated as a Judge of the High court on 05.10.2016
