High School, Abohar and Sikh National College, Lahore; m. Sardarni Rajeshwar Kaur, February 1, 1954; 2 S. and 1 D-; Agriculturist; first President of the Punjab Students’ Congress, 1944—46; organised students’ movements in Lahore; took active part in the Quit India movement and was imprisoned and interned; Member, (1) Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandbak Committee, 1946—55 and of its Executive Committee, 1953-54; (2) Distt. Congress Commitee, Ferozepore, since 1946 and. of its Executive Committee, 1951-52; (3) A.I.C.C., since 1955; (4) Punjab P.C.C., 1948—52 and again since 1955; (5) Punjab P.C.C. Executive, 1951-52 and again since 1955—64; General Secretary, All India Khalsa Dal; Member, First LokSabha, 1954—57, Second Lok Sabha, 1957—62 and Third Lok Sabha, 1962—67; Deputy-Minister of Petroleum and Chemicals, Jan. 1966 to March, 1967; Deputy Minister for Works, Housing and Supply, 1967.
