  4. Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
  5. Human Rights Watch.
  6. National Human Rights Commission

 

Part b                              (2 ´ 10 = 20 Marks)

Answer any TWO of the following in 300 words each

  1. How did the concept of ‘Human Rights’ originate in World History?
  2. Examine the Right to equality classified under the Indian Constitution.
  3. How far in India we have implemented the Social, economic and Cultural rights.
  4. Write a note on the Convention on the Rights of the Children.

Answer any THREE of the following in 1200 words each

 

  1. Highlight the articles under the UDHR.
  2. Examine the CEDAW Convention and how it protects the rights of women?
  3. Explain the articles under ‘Right to Freedom’ under the Constitution of India.
  4. Describe the contemporary Human rights violations such as Torture, Custodial Deaths and disappearances.

 

  1. Write on the powers and functions of the UN Human Rights Commission.
