  2. What is community? Spell out its elements.
  3. Explain sanskritisation.
  4. Why are primary groups important?
  5. What are the different forms of conflict?
  6. Differentiate between ‘community’ and ‘association’.
  7. Give the meaning of social mobility and its two types.
  8. Define: social change.
  9. What is BPL?
  10. How is ‘class’ different from ‘caste’?

Answer any FOUR questions. All the questions carry equal marks. Answer to each question should not exceed 300 words.                                                                                                 ( 4 X 10 = 40 )

 

  1. Bring out the importance of Sociology for Social Work.
  2. Explain the principles of functionalism and conflict school.
  3. “Man becomes man only among men” – Discuss the factors of group life.
  4. Describe the various functions and forms of marriage.
  5. What are the differences between ‘cooperation’ and ‘competition’?

Answer any TWO questions. All the questions carry equal marks. Answer to each question should not exceed 600 words                                                                                                  (2 X 20 = 40)

 

 

  1. Discuss the nature, purpose, types and agencies of social control.
  2. Write an essay on the causes and effects of family disorganization in modern India.
  3. As a Professional Social Worker, critically examine any one of the social problems and suggest strategies to solve it.
