- State any FOUR constitutional provisions pertaining to labour.
- List out the steps involved in the certification of Standing Orders.
- State the objectives of the Trade Union Act.
- Give the conditions for the grant of Gratuity.
- State the minimum and the maximum bonus as per the law.
- Define Partial and Total disablement.
- Differentiate Lay Off from Lock out.
- Define `factory’ according to Factories Act 1948.
- What is Allocable surplus?
- Enlist the maternity benefits as specified in Maternity benefit Act 1961

- Describe the duties of an apprentice and his employer under the law.
- Critically analyze the relevance and implementation of the legislation on Compulsory Notification of Vacancies to Employment Exchanges.
- Explain the legal provisions related to health of workers employed in factories.
- Establish the fact that the E.S.I. Act 1948 is more beneficial to workers than the Workman’s Compensation Act 1923.
- Justify `Termination of Service’ with a case law.
- How does Trade Union Act 1926 help an employee to safeguard his/her security in an Industry.
SECTION- C
Answer any TWO questions. All the questions carry equal marks. Answer to each question should not exceed 600 words (2 X 20 = 40)
- Explain the salient features pertaining to accident prevention and safety at work, prescribed by the Factories Act 1948.
- Discuss the role of various machineries provided in Industrial Dispute Act 1947 for settling of disputes.
- Support with case laws `The principle of community of interests’ and `The principle of Notional Extension of Employment’.
- Critically analyze `Disciplinary Action’ and `Disciplinary Proceedings’ with suitable examples.
