Born on 11th June, 1958. Completed Law Graduation from Marathwada University, Aurangabad in 1982. Commenced practice as an Advocate in High Court and Trial Court at Aurangabad under the guidance of father – Senior Advocate – Late Shri Kalesh Sonawane. Practiced on both, Civil and Criminal sides. Appointed as an Additional Public Prosecutor & Assistant Government Pleader in District & Sessions Court at Aurangabad in the year 1988-89 and represented the State Government in many significant Criminal and Civil matters for about 12-13 years. Worked as Special Prosecutor for Anti-Corruption matters in Aurangabad Courts.

Appointed as District Judge from Bar on 12th October, 2000 and served at Dhule, Beed and Nagpur. In the year 2008, appointed as “Member Secretary” of the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority, Mumbai and also worked as Coordinator of Mediation Monitoring Committee, Bombay High Court.

In October, 2010, appointed as President, Maharashtra State Cooperative Appellate Court, Mumbai. In June, 2011 appointed as Principal District & Sessions Judge, Thane. Assumed the charge as Principal District & Sessions Judge, Nagpur on 9th June, 2014.

Elevated as Judge of the Bombay High Court on 28th March, 2016.
