Shri. P. Thilothaman, MLA from Cherthala is serving as Minister for Food and Civil Supplies in the LDF led ministry headed by Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan. Since college days, he had been actively engaged in political as well as and social activities. He was a member of A.I.S.F.(CPI) in 1977 at the time of college education in SN College, Cherthala. Other political positions held include: District Secretary, Alappuzha- CPI; Member- CPI State Council; State President – Coir Workers’ Federation (AITUC); President – Toddy Workers’ Union (AITUC) Cherthala Taluk ; President – Cherthala Coir Factory Workers’ Union; President – KLDC Employees Union; Taluk President- Theeradesa Matsya Chumattu Thozhilali Union; Taluk President- Kerala State Ration Retail Dealers Association etc. Also he was President- Cherthala Grama Panchayat (1995); President- CCT and Vice President – Coirfed. He had been previously elected to K.L.A. in 2006 and 2011.
He was born to Parameswaran and Gouri as their third son on 2 November 1957 in Cherthala south.
