Anima Chakravorty, May 13, 1945; 2 s. and 1 d.; Teacher; previously associated with Congress and Socialist Party; participated in the Students’ Movement  1935-4 in Bengal and Assam; participated in the August movement, 1942 as General Secretary of the Calcutta University Students’ Union, and in the Goa movement, 1955 and various other movements from time to time both before and after Independence; Founder-member and General Secretary, Assam College Teachers Association; Member, (i) Gauhati University Court, 1953—56, (ii) Calcutta University Senate since 1961, (iii) Calcutta University Syndicate since 1968.  General Secretary and now President, West Bengal College and University Teachers’ Association.
