JAMMU AND KASHMIR PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION
Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission was setup in the year 26th January 1954.In the year 1957, the first chairman was appointed by the government. The chairman was appointed for a period of five years by the governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The rules for the recruitment was updated every year .The exams conducted by the commission are,

- Departmental Examination
Combined Competitive Exams
The combined competitive exams are mainly conducted for the posts of Junior Scale Administrative Services, Police Services and Accountant Services.
Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must be a permanent resident of the State. The age limit for the candidate should not be below 21 years and above 30 years. While the upper age limit for SC/ST candidates is 32 and the upper age limit for physically challenged candidate is 33 years. The candidate must have a degree from a recognized University/Institution. Based on the posts the candidates are eligible to apply.
Selection Procedure:

- Preliminary Examination
- Main Written Examination
- Interview
Exam Pattern:
The Preliminary exam consists of two papers with a total marks of 450 .The preliminary exams are objective type. The Paper I has time duration of 150 minutes with 150 marks. The paper II consists of 3 hours with 300 marks
The Candidate shortlisted from the Preliminary Exam is allowed to attend the main Exam. The documents furnished as a proof while attending the exam are Age, Education Qualification, Permanent Resident of The state. While any misconceptions, the candidate are not allowed to attend the exam. The Main exam is of descriptive type. The main Exam consists of four papers and two optional papers where three papers carry 300 marks and one paper carries 150 marks.
The interview process is been done by a panel of members, the candidates selected from the above two exams are interview here. The interview is mainly conducted to test the caliber of the candidate and his knowledge in the social welfare.
Departmental Examination
The Departmental Exam is mainly conducted for the candidates in various departments like Medical, Agriculture, Law and Education.
Eligibility Criteria:
The Aspirant must be permanent resident of the State. The age limit of the candidate should not be below 21 years and not above 30 years. In certain cases experience of the candidate is also verified based on the posts.

Exam Pattern:
The Written exam consists of four papers and the time duration for each paper is 3 hours. The syllabus of the paper will be provided in the notification in the official website. The candidates selected from the written exam are shortlisted for the interview process. The interview process will be for the candidate to know about the experience of the candidate in the respective departments.

- Using the username and password log onto the website
- Fill all the mandatory details
- Upload the recent scanned copy of the photo and signature
- Submit the details
- Using system generated challan, fill the necessary details. Pay the amount in the nearby SBI Bank
- Then again login to the application to fill the branch code and other details. Submit the details
- Print the form for future reference
