PART – I

                                                                SECTION – A                                       (5´ 2=10 marks)

      Answer ALL questions. Answer to each should not exceed 50 words.

 

  1. Define Community Organization.
  2. What is collective behaviour?
  3. Mention the three models of CO.
  4. Mention any two differences between Community Organization and Community Development.
  5. List the phases of Community Organization.

 

                                                                SECTION – B                                     (2´ 10=20 marks)

      Answer any TWO. Answer to each question should not exceed 300 words.

 

06.   Explain change cause and change strategy with suitable examples.

  1. What is discontent? How does it facilitate Community Organization?
  2. What are the skills required for a successful Community Organizer?

Answer any ONE. Answer to each question should not exceed 600 words.

 

  1. Explain the relevance of the principles of CO in the context of today’s social problems.
  2. Kulavai is a coastal village. In the last five years there is a noted decline in the male students appearing in the tenth standard examinations. In the year 2001 out of 300 males between the age group of 14-17 only 11 students had appeared from the whole village. As a community organizer what strategies will you employ to better this situation?

                                                                  SECTION – A                                     (5´ 2=10 marks)

      Answer ALL the questions within 50 words each.

 

  1. What is meant by “Social Development”?
  2. Mention the names of the two institutions and two persons responsible for the promotion of PIL in the country.
  3. What is advocacy?
  4. Mention any Four characteristics of social movement.
  5. What is Justice?

                                                                SECTION – B                                     (2´ 10=20 marks)

      Answer any TWO questions within 300 words each.

 

  1. Explain the concept of ‘Dalit’ and the main thrust of Dalit movements.
  2. Explain the basic principles of Social Action.
  3. CHIPKO movement is very pertinent to preserve ecology and environment. Comment.

Answer any ONE question within 600 words.

 

  1. Discuss the scope and relevance of social action in the present day in Indian scenario.
  2. Critically analyse the contribution of E.V.R. towards the growth of socially disadvantaged.
