  1. What is meant by phenomenon of death through encounter?
  2. What is the function of the Supreme court with respect to the Fundamental rights?
  3. Define “Jurisprudence”.
  4. List out any four contributions of Mr. Nelson Mandela in the field of Human Rights.
  5. Enumerate any four functions of National Commission for Women.
  6. What are the duties of the police in conducting a search?
  7. What does the Constitution say about Uniform Civil Code?
  8. List out any two grounds in which Article 19 i.e., right to freedom can be restricted.
  9. What is the responsibility of the public to the police in connection with investigation?
  10. When is a writ of prohibition issued?

Answer any FOUR questions. All the questions carry equal marks. Answer to each question should not exceed 300 words.                                                                                                 (4 X 10 = 40)

 

  1. Trace the origin and development of Human Rights in India.
  2. Article 21 of the Constitution states that “no person shall be deprived of his life or personal liberty except according to procedure established by law”  What are the procedure established by law?
  3. Differentiate Fundamental rights from the Directive Principles of State Policy.
  4. ‘Public Interest Litigation is a device to promote human rights’ – Discuss
  5. “National Minorities Commission is a device to promote human rights’ – Comment.

Answer any TWO questions. All the questions carry equal marks. Answer to each question should not exceed 600 words                                                                                                  (2 X 20 = 40)

 

  1. Discuss the salient features of the Indian legal system.
  2. Review critically the working of Women’s Welfare legislation in India and suggest needed modification.
