- Define Labour welfare and state its aims:
- Explain the social and relative concept of welfare.
- State Article 43 and its significance of the Indian Constitution.
- When and under whose chairmanship was the Royal Commission on Labour constituted?
- State the any four functions of a Welfare officer.
- Name any four major central trade union organisations formed in India.
- How are accident related statistics calculated?
- Define ‘organisational health’.
- State any four characteristics of a mentally healthy person.
- What are consequences of ‘lead poisoning’ and ‘silicosis’?
SECTION – B
Answer any FOUR, each not exceeding 300 words. (4 x 10 = 40 marks)
- Enumerate the objectives and principles of Labour welfare and bring out its relevance to the Indian scenario.
- Explain the statutory welfare facilities provided under the Factories Act, 1948.
- “Industrial Housing is not a nonproductive investment”. Elucidate.
- Discuss the occupational hazards confronted by industrial workers.
- Explain the concept ‘social security’ for labour and discuss its types, scope.

Answer any TWO, each not exceeding 600 words. (2 x 20 = 40 marks)
- Discuss the role of Government, Employer and Trade unions in promoting labour welfare in India.
- “Accidents are caused, they do not happen’. Elaborate your view on this proposition with special reference to Industrial safety and labour welfare.
- Critically examine the objectives and the model of Workers’ Education programme implemented in India.
