Each answer should not exceed 50 words.                                                     (10 x 2 = 20)

 

  1. State a comprehensive definition of Labour Welfare.
  2. Define `Industrial Hygiene’.
  3. What is meant by `social insurance’?
  4. Explain the importance of `consumer cooperatives’ in Industrial establishments.
  5. Differentiate `intra-mural’ from `extra-mural’ welfare programmes.
  6. Enlist any FOUR health hazards identified in Docks.
  7. Explain the concept `social assistance’.
  8. State how the accident related statistics are calculated.
  9. Mention any FOUR Articles of the Directive Principles of State Policy that deal with Labour welfare.
  10. Write a note on: Royal Commission on Labour.

Each answer should not exceed 300 words.                                                   ( 4 x 10 = 40 )

  1. Explain the unique characteristics of Industrial labour in India.
  2. Bring out the role of Government, Employer and Trade Unions in promoting Labour Welfare activities in India today.
  3. Discuss the causes and implications of Industrial accidents and suggest suitable preventive measures for the same.
  4. Examine the “Workers’ Education Programme”, implemented in India.
  5. Discuss the significance and provisions of Creche and Canteen in Industrial settings.
  6. Explain briefly the various Occupational Diseases that confront the Industrial labour today.

 

SECTION – C

Answer any TWO questions.

Each answer should not exceed 600 words.                                                   ( 2 x 20 = 40 )

  1. Outline the principles of Labour Welfare and discuss its scope and approaches with suitable examples.
  2. Critically examine the various Housing Schemes implemented for the Industrial labour in India.
  3. Describe the working conditions and hazards identified in Factories and Mines.
