About FMGE

Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) Screening Test is conducted by NATIONAL BOARD OF EXAMINATIONS under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Test is conducted by the National Board of Examinations in June and December every year. The Test has been introduced through the Screening Test Regulations 2002. As per the regulations, “An Indian citizen possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002 shall have to qualify a screening test conducted by the prescribed authority for that purpose as per the provisions of section 13 of the Act.”

The exam is conducted in two parts: PART A and PART B. Each part consists of 150 multiple questions each. Time allocation is 150 minutes for each part. Student has to obtain 150 out of 300 marks to clear the examination. There is NO NEGATIVE marking of wrong attempt. The result will be declared in the FMGE website.

NOTE: There are no restrictions on the number of attempt by the applicant.
