PUNJAB PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

        Punjab Public Service Commission was setup in the year 1957.The commission consists of one chairman and 8 members. The Main mission of Punjab Public Service commission is to recruit hardworking candidates who are interested in working in the government sector. The exams conducted by the commission are,Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC)

  1. Civil services Examination
  2. Combined Competitive Examination

Civil Services Examination

        Civil Services Examination is held for the posts of Police officers, Administrative officers. The Applicant with more interest can apply for the job.

Eligibility Criteria:

The aspirant must be the citizen of India. The aspirant must hold a degree from a recognized University/Institution. The age limit of the aspirant must be between 21 to 30 years. SC/ST candidate’s upper age limit is 32 years. The physically challenged candidate has an upper age limit of 33 years.

Selection Procedure:

    The selection procedure for the candidate is,

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Main Examination
  • Personal Interview

Exam Pattern:

    The preliminary exam consists of two papers .The two papers consists of 200 marks each with a time duration of two hours for each paper. The preliminary paper is of objective type. The Main exam consists of four papers with 100 marks each with 3 hours time duration. The four papers are compulsory papers. The other two papers are 100 marks paper .the eligible candidate are selected for the interview process.

Combined Competitive Exams

      The combined Competitive exams are mainly conducted for Assistant managers, Engineers. The examination is a base for different posts .with the marks secured in the examination, the candidate are selected for different posts.

Eligibility Criteria:

      The applicants must be citizen of India and Nepal. The candidate must have a degree from a recognized University/Institution. The candidate can attend the exam while studying the degree. The candidate must have the proof of degree qualification while attending the main Examination. The candidates must have passed Punjabi.

Selection Procedure:

     The Selection procedure consists of three stages;

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Main Examination
  • Interview

Exam Pattern:

     The Preliminary exam consists of two papers. The paper I consists of 100 questions with 250 marks and the time duration for the exam is two hours. The paper II consists of 80 questions with 200 marks with the time duration of two hours. The main exam consists of nine papers with conventional and essay type papers. The merit based candidates are selected to the interview process with total marks of 150.

How to Apply

  • Interested candidates for the different posts must log onto the official website ppsc.gov.in
  • Candidate must fill the necessary details.
  • With ONE TIME REGISTRATION, the candidate gets notification based on the profile details of the applicant.
  • If the application is to be edited, the candidate must fill the registration number and password to edit the application.
  • Upload the recent scanned clear signature and photo of the applicant.
  • The signature must be in black pen.
  • If the applicant forgets his/her password using OTP generation the applicant can reset the password.
  • Submit all the necessary details.
  • Using the different payment mode like online payment and e-challan, the candidate can apply to the application.
  • Take the printout of the application for future reference.
