UTTAR PRADESH PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION
Uttar Pradesh is a state agency which conducts Civil Service Examination for every entry level appointments. The commission has established on the year April 1 1937.The examination is mainly for recruiting the candidate who are more interested in Government Sector jobs .The promotion and transfer are been done by the Commission as a recommending authority for their excellent development in their sectors. The exams conducted by the commission are,
- Combined State/Lower Subordinate Exam
- Combined State/Upper Subordinate Exam
- Combined Competitive Engineering Exam
Combined Competitive Engineering Examination
The examination is mainly for the posts of Junior Engineer in various departments like Civil, Mechanical, Ground Water Department and Irrigation.
Eligibility Criteria:
The aspirant must be the citizen of India. The age limit of the candidate must be between 21 to 40 years. The aspirant must have a diploma in engineering in various departments for the posts they apply. There is a age relaxation for candidates of SC/ST and physically challenged.
Selection Procedure:
The Procedure for the examination is,
- Written Examination
- Personal Interview
Exam Pattern:
The main exam consists of papers which are General Hindi, Technical subject two papers which are of 150 marks with three hours time duration. The technical Papers are related to the posts like Civil Papers, Mechanical papers. The Personal Interview is held for the candidates who are eligible from the main examination. The mark for the personal interview Is 50.
Combined State /Lower Subordinate Examination
The examination is mainly for the posts of Deputy Collectors, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Regional Transport Office, Commercial Tax Officers and Administrative Officers.
Eligibility Criteria:
The applicant must be the citizen of India. The age limit of the candidate must be between 21 to 40 years. The aspirant must have a degree from a recognized University/Institution. There is a age relaxation for candidates of SC/ST and physically challenged
Selection Procedure:
The levels of selection for the examination is,
- Preliminary Examination
- Written Examination
- Personal Interview
Exam Pattern:
The preliminary Exam consists of objective type questions with 300 marks with two hour time duration. The preliminary exam is for screening purpose only. The main exam consists of two papers .The first paper is General Study’s paper with 200 marks with two hours time duration with 150 questions. The second paper consists of 100 marks. A conventional essay paper is in Hindi with 100 marks with three hours time duration. The shortlisted candidates are elected to the interview purpose.
Combined State/Upper Subordinate Exam
The examination is mainly for the posts of Account Officers, District probationary Officer, Jail Superintendent and Assistant Horticulture Officer

The candidate must be the citizen of India. The age limit of the candidate must be between 21 to 40 years. The aspirant must have a degree from a recognized University/Institution. There is a age relaxation for candidates of SC/ST and physically challenged
Selection Procedure:

- Preliminary Examination
- Written Examination
- Personal Interview
Exam Pattern:
The preliminary Exam consists of objective type questions with two question papers. Each paper consists of 200 marks with two hours time duration w. The preliminary exam is for screening purpose only. The main exam consists of four papers .The papers are general Hindi, Essay, General Studies I and General Studies II with 150 marks for first two papers and 200 marks for next two papers respectively. The interview process is held for score of 200 marks.
