Combined Geoscientist and Geologist Examination under UPSC

COMBINED GEOSCIENTIST AND GEOLOGIST EXAMINATION

   Combined Geoscientist and Geologist Examination are mainly conducted by Union Public Service Commission. The examination is mainly conducted for the posts of Geologist Group ‘A’, Geophysicist Group ’A’, Chemist Group ’A’, Junior Hydro-Geologist Group ’A’.

Eligibility Criteria

  Candidate must be either,

  1. Citizen of india
  2. Citizen of Bhutan
  3. Citizen of Nepal

Migrated to different countries with the intention of returning to India

Candidate must have an age limit between 21 to 30 years, the age relaxation for the following candidates

  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: Maximum of 5 years
  • Other Backward Caste: Maximum of 3 years
  • Physically Challenged: Maximum of 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Maximum of 3 years

Candidate must have a Masters degree in Applied Geology/Geology or Math Geology from a recognized University/Institution. Candidate with diploma in Associate ship of Applied Geology or Degree in Mineral Exploration or Masters Degree in hydro-geology from a recognized University.

Exam Pattern

   The written examination consists of English paper with 200 marks with two hours duration. The other papers with 200 marks and two hours time duration. The Eligible candidates are moved with Personality Interview which carries of 200 marks.
