brief introduction of public and political life
As an IPS officer, Shri Singh was SP in Jabalpur, Indore and Raipur for consecutive eight years. Took voluntary retirement form the post of IGP. Received President’s Medal for meritorious and distinguished service. In 2003, he was elected as member of 12th Vidhan Sabha and worked as Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare, Food and Civil Supplies, Public Health and Family Welfare, Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare, Biodiversity and Biotechnology and Panchayat and Rural Development Deptt.
Elected to Vidhan Sabha for the second time in 2013.
Shri Rustam Singh was included in Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s cabinet as Cabinet Minister on June 30, 2016
