About Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District :
Yadadri district is carved out of erstwhile Nalgonda district. The district shares boundaries with Nalgonda, Suryapet, Warangal Urban,Siddipet, Medchal and Shamshabad districts.
The district comprises 16 mandals and 2 revenue divisions – Bhongir and Choutuppal. The district headquarters is located at Bhongir town which a prominent business centre in the region.
Named after the biggest and the most popular pilgrim centre in Telangana, yadadri is a district of historical and religious importance. The district boasts of Jain Temple at Kolanpak and Bhogir Fort. Yadadri district claims an esteemed position for its historical prominence as well. This region is the birth place of Andhra Mahasabhalu, which ushered in the Indian freedom Movement in the Nizam state. Bhudan Pochampally in the district is the place where the social activist Vinobha Bhave’s Bhudhan movement was initiated.
River Musi, local tanks and borewells are the major sources of agriculture which is the main occupation of the people in the rural areas of the district. Textile industry is also one of the focal points of the district. Pochampally handloom products are of national and international repute.
Small and medium scale industries situated in and around Bibinagar and Bhongir are the sources of employment to many locals. Choutuppal, Yadagirigutta, Aler, Mothkur and Ramannapet are the other towns of significance in the district.
The district is well connected by road and Railways. There is a bus depot at Yadagirigutta.
Yadadri also known as Yadagirigutta is a popular hindu temple situated on a hillock in Yadagirigutta. It is about 70 Kilometers from Hyderabad on the Hyderabad-Warangal Highway.The temple is an abode of Narasimha Swamy, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.. As it is located at a distance of about 60 km from the Hyderabad, the flow of devotees / pilgrims visiting the temple for worship is very high. Telangana government is planning to develop Yadadri into a major religious tourist destination. In few months from now, it would become the most sought after tourist and pilgrimage centre.
Bhongir fort, which stands on a monolithic rock, is considered a popular tourist destination and coupled with a thrilling climbing experience. It is a massive impregnable structure erected by Chalukya ruler, Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya VI and the fort is named after him. The town of Bhuvanagiri/Bhongir derives its name from this splendid fort.
Kolanupaka Jain Mandir at Kolanupaka village, near Aler town is a 2000-year old temple. The temple which is embellished with beautiful images of Tirthankaras. is an important pilgrimage center for Svetambara Jains of South India. Kolanupaka Museum exhibits exquisite artifacts from the numerous historical monuments in Kolanupaka.
Yadgirigutta
Sri Maha Vishnu Came from out of the pillar as per the desire of Bhakta Prahladha and killed Hiranya Kashyapa,who is father of Prahladha,who is beloved devotee of Maha Vishnu In Ancient days Sri Yada Maharshi son of Sri Rushyashrunga Maharshi with the Blessings of Anjaneya Swamy had performed great penance for Lord Narasimha Swamy. After securing blessing for his penance Lord Narasimha had come into existence in Five Avatharas called as Sri Jwala Narasimha, Sri Yogananda Narasimha, Sri Ugra Narasimha, Sri Gandaberunda Narasimha, Sri Lakshmi Narasimha.
As such this is known as “Pancha Narasimha Kshetram”. The devotees who worship this deity with devotion, the problems faced by them in regarding their “Graha”, the difficulties through evil spirits and their all mental problems are being cured by the God & Godess. All the difficulties faced by the devotees are being cured through herbal medicines like fruits, flowers and Tulasi Teertham. The devotees who believe the Lord. He is appearing to them in their dreams and conducting operations also.
Bhongiri Fort
Bhuvanangiri Fort was built by Tribuvanamalla Vikramaditya who was a Chalukya king. The Fort was built sometime during the 12th century as was supposed to provide protection to the kingdom.
The fort has been built over an area of 40 acres and is atop a hill. The fort is at a height of 500 meters from ground level. The fort is a popular destination among tourists because of its unique construction and architecture.
The fort is oval in shape and can be entered from two gates. Outside the fort were put tons of moat so as to make it absolutely inaccessible. Inside the fort are underground chambers and long corridors that have secret passages, trap doors, a secret room for storing weapons and also a stable for horses. The upper level of the fort has two ponds and some deep wells to fulfill the water needs. One can easily reach the top of the fort by taking a dark stairway or by going up through a winding and steep track.
Kolanpaka
Kolanupaka Temple is a Jain shrine at the village of Kolanupaka in Yadadri district, Telangana, India.The temple houses three idols: one each of Lord Rishabha, Lord Neminath, and Lord Mahaveer.The temple is about 77 km from Hyderabad on the Hyderabad-Warangal Highway.The Kolanupaka Temple is said to be more than two thousand years old. In its present form, is more than eight hundred years old. It is believed that Jainism was prevalent in Telangana before the 4th century, and Kolanupaka was one of the prominent centres of Jainism from early times.Lord Rishabha, popularly called Adinath Bhagvan, was the first Tirthankars in the Jain religion. It is believed that the original idol of Lord Adinath, known locally as Manikya Deva, has made Kolanupaka its abode.
There are eight idols of the other Tirthankars on both the sides of the main temple. The statue of Lord Mahaveer is 130 centimetres (51 in) tall and is said to be made of a single piece of jade. Idols of Lord Simandar Swami and Mata Padmavati are installed on either side of the main temple.Kulpakji is an important pilgrimage center for Svetambara Jains of South India.
Also, the Someshwara Temple is very famous, which was established by Chalukya’s about 800 years back. Kolanu means a Lake and Paka means a Hut. There used to be lots of lakes and huts and this caused to get this name.
