About Kupwara District :
Kupwara is the backward frontier District of Kashmir Valley, full of scenic beauty. Dense forests and rich wild life make it significant from tourism and wildlife point of view. Nature has been very kind to Kupwara. District Kupwara was carved out form erstwhile District Baramulla in the year 1979. The District Headquarter “Kupwara” is situated at a distance of 90 kms from the summer capital of state, i.e. Srinagar. The District is situated at an average altitude of 5300 feet from the sea level. The geographical area of the District is 2379 sqkms The north west part of the District is bound by line of actual control (L.O.C)) while the southern portion is bound by the District Baramulla. There are three bad pocket areas, namely, Machil, Keran and Karnah located near L.O.C which remain land locked for more than six months in a year. There are some other areas located at barbed distances and remain cut off from District Headquarter for a considerable time, like Kumkadi, Lashdat, Jumgund, Kethanwali and Budnambal

Bungus Valley :
Seemab Valley
About 4 Kms from the tourist reception centre Kupwara, the Seemab Valley is located at the entrance of the Lolab Valley. The valley has a natural picturesque beauty and a perennial water body by the name of Daal Kul. It is surrounded by lush green forests and therefore provides ample scope for day picnics. Few adventure related activities like rock climbing and trekking can also be considered while visiting this place.
Sattbarran Kalaroos
A unique place where the past and the present of architecture meet, a unique place of ancient architecture, situated on the outskirts of village Madmadav village in Kalaroos area. About 19 Kms from TRC kupwara Sattbarran can be reached by road up to Kalaroos and three kms by foot. CHANDIGHAM
20 Kms from TRC kupwara is one of the best tourist spots in Lolab valley. Having a macadamized road network is also utilized as a camping cite. The lush green jungles surrounding the Chandigam provide an ample scope for the adventure loving people for tracking and mountain biking. 05 KMs From chandigam there is also another beautiful tourist spot by the name of Dooruswani.On way to Dooruswani the traditional constructions such as thatched houses can also be seen.
Dranyari
7.44 kms from Chowkibal Kupwara, Drangyari is considered a complete tourist destination in itself and is very famous among the local population. It lies in the foothills of the Nattishanner Gali, on the road leading towards Karnow Valley. The Drangyari is surrounded by places like Badi Behak, Aincha, and Tilipatra which are famous for their wildlife.There is an accommodation facility on the way to Drangyari at Reddi. In adjoining areas of the Drangyari region there are also some historical spots like Farkan, Melyal, Raja Ram Mountains, Ram Kund, Seeta Kund, Lakshman Kund and Hanuman Kund which are a series of springs situated in Melyal Harie region and are considered sacred by Hindus.
