About Jamui District :

JAMUI was formed as a District on 21st February, 1991 as a result of its separation from Munger. It is located at a Longitude of 86º-13’E and the latitude of 24º-55’N. The district is bounded on North by Munger and Lakhisarai District, Giridih District of Jharkhand on South, Deoghar and Banka District on East and Nawada District on West. The district occupies a total area of 3,122.80 sq. kms. At present the district is the part of Munger Commissionery having one subdivision and 10 revenue blocks, 1528 Villages with 153 panchayat. The district Comprise of four assembly constituency i.e. Jamui, Sikandra, Jhajha Chakai. The entire four Assembly constituency are the part of Jamui (SC) Parliamentary Constancy. Kuil and Ulai River are the chief rivers of the district. The places of tourist interest in the districts are Jamui, Malaypur, Kakan, Amarath, Indpe, Simultalla, Jhumraj Asthan, Patsanda, Gidheswar, Kshatriya Kund Gram, Kumar, Lachuar, Mahadeo Simaria, and Sikandra.

Tourist Places :

Jain Mandir Dharmsala :

This is a large and old rest house(Dharmsala) of 65 rooms constructed for the Jain Pilgrims. There is a Mandir of Lord Mahavira inside the Dhamsala. This is situated on the way of kshatriya Kund Gram,  the birth place of Lord Mahavira. This place is located in Sikandra Block which is approx 20 km. west from Jamui Dist. Head quarter.

kshatriya Kund Gram :

This is a famous religious place of Jains. It is supposed to be the birth place of Lord Mahaveer. There is a beautiful temple of Lord Mahaveer  situated at this place. This place is 15 kms south of Lachchuar.
