Hon’ble Justice Samapti Chatterjee

Born on December 13, 1958, in a family of lawyers. Passed B.A. from Gokhale Memorial College and LL.B. from Calcutta University. Was enrolled as an Advocate on August 8, 1985, and practised in the High Court at Calcutta for 26 years. Also appeared before the Supreme Court of India, the High Court at Patna and the West Bengal State Administrative Tribunal very frequently. Practised in Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, Company, Labour, Arbitration and Service laws, but specialised in Service Law and Constitutional matters. Was elevated to the Bench of the High Court at Calcutta as an Additional Judge on October 30, 2013.

Appointed as Permanent Judge of the Calcutta High Court on 14.03.2016.
