About VITEEE:

             VITEEE (Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination) is a national level

engineering entrance examination conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology for the admission to the

B.Tech programs in VIT campuses (Vellore and Chennai).

Eligibility criteria for this exam:

  • Candidate must be an Indian citizen to take part in the exam.
  • Candidate must have either completed or appearing for the qualifying examination conducted by State board, CBSE or ICSE board.
  • Candidates must have secured at least 60% of marks in all the major subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
  • Candidates should not be more than 22 years.

Exam pattern:

Mode of examination: Online or offline mode

Total duration of the exam: 2 hours 30 minutes

Students can either choose Mathematics or Biology during the slot booking of VITEEE. According to the choice of subjects, question booklet differs for all the students. All subjects will be carrying 40 marks each. No negative marks are applicable for the incorrect attempts. Students who are in merit lists are called for the VIT counselling session, and admitted to their desirable courses according to their ranks and seat availability.

Smart classrooms:

             VIT has enabled a new facility called Smart classroom with hi-tech equipments which allows the faculties to conduct classes very easily just through single click of a button. This is a very special learning environment with a projector, computer and a touch screen white board. This touch screen board serves also as a electronic board where everything written can be saved for the future reference.

               Right now, there are two smart classrooms inside the VIT campus. More smart classrooms are planned to be derived in the near future for the welfare of the students of VIT. VITEEE 2015 Eligibility Conditions:

VITEEE 2015 Eligibility: 

1.1   Nationality:
 The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National.

1.2   Qualifying Examination:

Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2015 should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2015, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:

  • The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi); The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi).
  • Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) Level.

Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full time and Formal Education alone are eligible to apply.

1.3    Eligibility Criteria in Qualifying Examination: 

Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2015 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).

The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the following categories:

  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category
  • Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
