About Aizawl District :
Aizawl District is one of the eight district of Mizoram State in North Eastern part of India.The total Geographical area of the district is 3576.31 Sq.Kms, which comprises varied geographical features like agricultural plains, hilly terrains & forests.The total forest cover of the district is 273158 hectares. Aizawl is the state Capital of Mizoram which is about 1132 meter above sea level. The District is bounded on the North by Kolasib District on the West by the Mamit District on the South by Serchhip District and on the East by Champhai District. As per the Census 2011, the total population of the district is 4,04,054 out of which 2,01,072are males and 2,02,982 are females. The literacy rate of the district is 98.50 %. Aizawl is a beautiful place that offers plenty of tourist attractions to tourists and habitants alike. Besides its breathtaking beauty, Aizawl is the storehouse of all important Government offices, State Assembly House and Civil Secretariat. It also enhouses different communities of Mizo wherein they maintain Peaceful Coexistence as the main theme. Aizawl is the largest city as well as the capital of the state of Mizoram in India. The City is located north of the Tropic of Cancer in the northern part of Mizoram and is situated on a ridge 1132 metres (3715 ft) above sea level, with the Tlawng river valley to its west and the Tuirial river valley to its east. In the summer the temperature ranges from 20-30 degrees Celsius, and in the winter 11-21 degrees Celsius. | ||
