About the District :

Gandhinagar city is a head center of the Gandhinagar District and Capital of Gujarat State. The district includes four talukas – Mansa, Kalol, Dahegam and Gandhinagar. All kinds of head offices of state government, secretariate of all departments, offices and residents of ministers legislative assembly, residence of governor and other important offices are situated in Gandhinagar. Moreover, sectors 30 have been made for quarters and private residences of government servants, who belong to all communities.

Famous Akshardham – Swaminarayan complex, Deerpark, Sports complex and Gardens are worth seeing places of Gandhinagar. Moreover, step well of Adalaj and IFCO fertilizer unit are not far from Gandhinagar city.

History :

Gandhinagar city is a head center of the Gandhinagar district capital of Gujarat state. There are four Talukas (sub districts) under the capital namely: Maansa, Kalol, Dehgaam and Gandhinagar. Capital contains all departments’ head offices, secretariats of all departments, ministers’ offices, ministers’ residences, legislature house, residence of Governor, office of Governor, all important offices and building. Residencies of government officials and private residents are situated in the city. They are divided in 30 sectors. People from all casts and creeds are residing in the capital.

There are tourist spots like world famous Akshardham temple complex, Haranodyan garden, sports complex, gardens at sector 28 etc

Tourist Places :

Akshardham Temple :

The Akshardham temple in the city is one of the biggest temples in India, and it is a major pilgrim destination that many people swarm to. This temple was built by the same organisation as the one in Delhi and is very much similar to it. Located in the capital of Gujarat, the complex took over 13 years to build in the honour of Swaminarayan and his life and teachings. Akshardham mandir is situated at the center of the 23-acre complex, which is built from 6,000 metric tonnes of pink sandstone from Rajasthan.

It acts as a cultural centre and is a melting pot that can enthral tourists from around the country. The temple consists of one huge monument and a surrounding garden that families use as a picnic spot. Recently, they put up the first-of-its-kind laser water show in the world, which is a must see. Facilities of wheelchairs, baggage, lost and found, parking, etc. are also available

Sarita Udyan :

Sarita Udyan is a picnic spot that is popular among the locals, and this is located adjacent to a deer park, which is another must see location. It never fails to enthrall both kids as well as adults
Children’s Park :
An attraction for children and holiday, makers of the Children’s Park in Sector 28 has a mini train and a lake with boating facilities. It is yet another famous destination and people often go here for an evening stroll with friends and families as the serenity and tranquility of the park makes it an appropriate place to sit and relax
