About Korea District :
Korea is one of the North-West District of Chhattisgarh State. The District came into existence on 25th May 1998. Its parent District was Surguja. After the formation of New State of Chhattisgarh on 1st November 2000, the District falls under the Chhattisgarh State. The District has derived its Name from the Korea State, the former princely State Korea. The total area of the district is 5978 Sq.Km. The District is bounded on the North by Shidhi District of Madhya Pradesh on the South Bilaspur Districts on the East by its parent District Surguja and on the West by Shahdol District of Madhya Pradesh. The district is divided into 5 subdivisions, 5 tehsils, 5 blocks and 653 villages. The important Archeological Places in the districts are Gangirani, Jogi Math, Rock Painting of Badara, and Ghaghara. The places of tourist interests in the districts are Guru Ghasidas National Park, Amritdhara Water fall, Korea Palace, Ramdaha Water fall, and Gaurghat Water fall.
