About Lohit District :
The Lohit District is situated on the North Eastern extremity of Arunachal Pradesh. It has an total area of 11402 Sq. KM. The District has at North-China and part of Dibang Valley District, at South-Changlang District, in the East-China and Burma and in the West-Assam state and a part of Dibang Valley District. The Lohit district has snowy mountains along the international borders, the lower hills deck with dense evergreen forests, innumerable rivers and rivulets. The name of the Lohit District is derived from one of its principal rivers, the Lohit which rises from the eastern Tibet and enters India in Kibithoo area of the District. Administratively the District is divided into 3 Sub-Divisions, 5 Blocks and 14 Circles. The scenic beauties of the district are splendid, Tezu Township alone attracts visitors for its set up. There are different tribes in the district. Their traditional dances, games and sports can be enjoyed in festive occasion. Elephant raiding, angling, rafting, hitchhiking, mountaineering etc. are the entertainment scopes available in the district. The important places in the District are Parashuram Kund, Bhismaknagar, Glow Lake, Dong, Hawa Camp, Buddha Vihar at Namsai, Hot Spring, District Museum and Craft Center.
