About Nizamabad District :
Nizamabad – A popular princely district in Telangana situated at a distance of about 175 kms from North west of Hyderabad. The District derived its name as Nizamabad ( Nizam-a-abadi) from the Nizam of Hyderabad Asaf Jahi, VI. Nizamabad district is bounded on the North by Adilabad district and on the East by Karimnagar district, on the South by Medak district, and on the West by Nanded district of Maharashtra State and Bidar district of Karnataka State. The geographical area of district is 7,956 Sq. Kms. The district lies between 18° 05 ‘ and 19° of the Northern latitudes and 77° 40’ and 78° 37’ of the Easter longitudes. The district has population of 25,51,335 as per the census 2011. The district is divided into 3 Revenue Divisions, 36 mandals and 922 villages. The places of tourist interest in the districts are Nizamsagar Dam, Ali Sagar, Pochampadu Project, Bodhan, Pocharam Sanctuary, Nizamabad Fort, Ali Sagar Deer Park, Sarangapur Temple, and Mallaram forest
