About North Tripura District :

The North Tripura District has a geographical area of 1,422.19 Sq. Km and is divided into three sub-divisions, namely, Dharmanagar, Kanchanpur and Panisagar. For the purpose of developmental activities it is divided into eight Blocks namely Panisagar, Kadamtala, Damcherra, Dasda, Jubarajnagar, Laljuri, Kalacherra and Jampui Hill. There is one Municipal corporation at Dharmanagar & one Nagar Panchayat at Panisagar. Main tribes of the District are Tripuri, Koloi,Halam, Chakma. Two Hill ranges, namely Jampui, Sakan run almost parallal to each other in the District. “Betling Chip”, the highest point of the state(939m.ht.), is located in the District in the Jampui range. Deo, Manu, Longai and Juri are the main rivers. The Jampui Hills & Rowa Eco Park, Panisagar are the some of the important places to visit in the district.

Tourist Places :

In North Tripura District, Jampui Hills is major attraction place for Tourist. Jampui is located in North Tripura district in the Tripura. Jampui Hills can be accessed by road from Dharmanagar and Kailashahar via Kanchanpur. It can be accessed from Mizoram through Tuipuibari towards the South and from Kanhmun towards the North. Also, Helipad is available at Vanghmun and at Phuldungsei where Helicopters can land with ease. It is situated about 250 km away from Agartala. The average altitude of the Jampui Hill range is around 3200 feets from sea level. The view of rising and setting sun from various view points in Jampui hills is a wonderful sight for the tourists. Tourists visiting the Jampui hill cannot afford to miss the view of the sunset and the sunrise. Various view points in the hill range provide excellent panoramic views of the valley and villages of Mizoram. Orange festival celebration in Jampui Hills is also one of the major attraction for tourists.
