Brief introduction of public and political life
Shri Dhurve took active part in Zila Ghoshit Karo Andolan and courting arrests, farmers and prohibition movements, state representative of BJP. President of BJP ST Morcha and National Secretary. Dindori Zila Panchayat President, member of Karanjiya Janpad Panchayat, District President of Vanvasi Kalyan Parishad. In 1990, he was elected to 9th Vidhan Sabha and 11th Vidhan Sabha in 1998 . In year 2003, he was elected to 12th Vidhan Sabha and became Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Social Welfare, SC and ST Welfare (except Tribal Welfare), Women and Child Development and later Tribal Welfare, Labour, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister.
He was elected to Vidhan Sabha in 2013 for the fourth time.
Shri Om Prakash Dhurve was inducted as Cabinet Minister on June 30, 2016 in the cabinet of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
