About the District :

If we peep into historical background of Valsad, we shall not forget entry of Parsi’s at Sanjan port for the first time in India. Parsi community spread throughout India from sanjan with their famous religious place “Fire Temple” at Udavada in Pardi taluka of Valsad district. There is an ancient Jain pilgrim place at Bagwada on National Highway No.8 near Udavada, where there is constant rush of pilgrims.

History :

There is an ancient Jain pilgrim place at Bagwada on National Highway No.8 near Udavada, where there is constant rush of pilgrims.

“Khed Satyagrah” and grass agitation launched by late Ishwarbhai Desai in pardi taluka put it before the country and world.

There is a parnera mountain known as fort of chhatrapati maharaj situated at about 5-6 kms. from valsad to pardi of valsad taluka big fair is held on “aatham” during Navaratri. Thousands of Pilgrims bows down to chandrika mataji, kalika mataji, Hanumanji Temple, Shankar Bhagwan Temple on this mountain. Muslims also visit Dargah there.

Valsad district was discussed at national and international level as it was birth place of the Great person shri morarji desai, Bharat Ratna and Ex.prime minister of India. A part from this valsad district is famous for valsadi aafus mangoes, world famous chemical factories at Atul, largest industrial estate at Vapi, famous valsadi teak-wood. Valsad district is situated on south of Gujarat. There is a Arabeen sea in west.

There are series of sahyadri mountains in the east. Valsad district has population of 17,03,068 and has area of 2,951.29 sq.kms area. It has good facilities and life style is good. It is a head quarters of Railway Defense Force and has training centre. Railway administration at Valsad has important divisions like loco sheds, dispensary, area manager office and vast railway colonies there is a vast M.P.M.C. market for sales of agricultural production manages and chikoos.

Tithal village situated at a distance of 5 kms from valsad is being developped as tourist place as well as pilgrim place. There are “Saibaba” temple in a splendid complex, sadhana centre of jain munis “Bandhu Triputi”, “Shantiniketan Complex”, “Swaminarayan temple” of Akshar purushottam Bochasanvasi, etc, which neutrally attract tourists of various fields. The reason is, Tithal has a pleasing sea-shore. There are accomodations of Hotel “Toran” of Gujarat State Tourist Corporation, guest house of Roads and buildings department of the state govt. Hotel Tithal. Moreover, there are many hotels in thithal for tousists to stay. There are a temple and complex of “Bhagwan Dattatreya” at village pathri on dharampur road of valsad taluka. People of valsad district have good faith in it is rapidly emerging as a tourist centre.

Dharampur and kaparada taluka of valsad district are mostly tribal areas. They are in the lap of sahyadri mountain chain. Hill station of this district are comparable to any other hill stations in India. However, there are negligible accommodation for lodging and boarding on account of inaccessible areas however, the area has good potentiality of its development as tourist centers on account of flowing rivers and springs high mountains, dense forest and natural beauty.

There is a “District” science centre at dharampur with modern scientific instruments exhibiting and demonstrating various rules of science, which has become the centre of attractions for science lovers not only from valsad district but also from maharashtra state and Dacha and Nagar Haveli union territories. Splendid temple of an idol of eight metals of Bhagwan “Bhav Bhaveshwar” constructed by maha mandaleshwar vidyanandji saraswati maharaj and its complex is emerging as a pilgrim place at Barumal “Sahayadri Srushti Centre Constructed by forests department particularly under supervision of Shri P.S.Valvi, the then D.F.O. of Valsad south Division is a centre of tourists attraction for the passers by going from valsad to Nasik, where there is a treasure of innumerable herbs from natural sources. It is a wealth of trible forests. There are 2.50 types of trees and 225 types of medicinal herbs.

Tithal Beach :

Tithal Beach in Valsad will become India’s 1st divyang-friendly (specially abled) beach. It is along the Arabian Sea located in Valsad, Gujarat. This beach is famous for its black sand. It is a popular tourist destination in South Gujarat. The main beach has several shops selling Indian snacks like Bhajiya, Dabeli, Bhel chaat, sweet corn roasted on charcoal, and also freshly prepared sugar cane juice, coconut water and souvenirs, Water rides, horse ride, camel ride etc are available.

The beach is within easy accessibility at a distance of 4 kms from Valsad bus station & railway station. Tithal Beach in Gujarat offers a wealth of tourist attractions, besides its awesome scenic beauty. You will find people & families visiting on weekends especially on holidays. Currently a project of Beach Development has been taken by the Tourism Department & District Administration.

Wilson Hills :

Wilson Hills is a hill station in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is near Dharampur Taluka and is also the nearest hill station to Surat. Presently Tourism Department is thinking of a development project here too. If you come in summer you will enjoy cool weather & famous local mangoes.

Wilson Hills stands in a densely forested region close to the Pangarbari Wildlife Sanctuary. It is one of the few hill stations in the world from which it is possible to glimpse the sea.

It has an average elevation of 750m (2500 feet). The Wilson Hills are popular during the summer months as it enjoys a cooler and less humid climate than the surrounding area.

This station is 27 Kms away from Dharampur city. The famous “chhatri” made of marbles is the prime attraction of this place. It is one of the best sites for people who are interested in activities like Trekking.

Nargol Beach :

 

Nargol is a charming coastal village in Valsad District, situated near the Maharashtra border, Gujarat. A Famous Aviary, often visited by the Parsis which is the oldest and most famous of the Parsi fire temples, is also present near the beach.

It’s perfect place for people in search of Beach with silence & looking for some Gothic/Heritage touch in place. It is 62 km away from Valsad city and distance between taluka HQ umbergaon and nargol beach covers 16 kms or 9.9 miles or 8.6 nautical miles.

Tadkeshwar Mahadev Temple :

 
It is a renowned temple in the town of Valsad, the Tadkeshwar Mahadev Temple is famous for the Various types of Shivling. Since there is no ceiling and the sun shines over the Shivlings continuously, the name ‘Tadkeshwar’ is given to the temple (where tadko-is sunlight Gujarat language). It’s called as Tadkeshwar because there is no roof and heard that constant sunlight should touch the Shivling.
Sainath Temple :
 

Param Pujya SAIBABA inspired his diyaman devotee and Oliyaman Shri Ramanlal Chhaganlal Panwala of Valsad to build a Baba temple as a surrounding Valsad. It is situated near tithal beach. The temple was established in the year 1982. The marbles were used in the construction of the temple. The two words “Shradha and “Saburi” is written on the wall. “Shradha means to have faith and Saburi means to be calm.”

People have great faith related to this temple. It is because of this reason the popularity of this temple is growing up day by day. Thursday is a special day for gurupooja, hence the temple attracts huge crowd on each thursday
